Here’s an e-commerce platform, sabrentkaro.com, which lets you give a wide range of things on rent. Set up by former Deloitte India Chief Information Officer Raj Sivaraju, the online renting platform lists products across different verticals, including home appliances, automobiles and electronics.

Business model

The facility can be used by both business-to-business and business-to-consumers, allowing them to make money on the assets or things that are not used to their potential. The firm makes money by charging a fee from both product owners and users.

MartketPlace IT Solutions, which is going to run the e-com portal, has already raised an angel round of $300,000 to offer the services in top 10 cities, including Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi.

“Most of the firms offer rental services for houses and a few other niche products. But our platform allows a much broader product range. You can even give your motor bike on rent. People can make money on things that they don’t use much,” MarketPlace IT Solutions Founder Raj Sivaraju told BusinessLine here on Sunday.

Verification

In order to ensure a fair play, the firm claims that it would verify the credentials of the users. “After consolidating the service in the top cities, we will expand it to tier-ii and tier-iii cities,” he said.
