At a keynote media event in Cupertino, California yesterday, Apple unveiled the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro along with the iPhone SE. The new iPad pro is the smaller sibling to the 12-inch iPad Pro that was released last year. Under the hood, it sports an A9X chipset along with an integrated M9 motion coprocessor and 12-cores dedicated exclusively for graphics processing.

The display uses the same materials that were used in the 12-inch iPad pro. It features a 2048x1536 Oxide TFT Display which is 40 percent less reflective, 25 percent brighter and boasts 25% greater color saturation than the iPad Air 2. True Tone display is an additional feature that Apple has added to the new iPad Pro where the display can measure the color temperature of the ambient light, and adjust accordingly.

The rear camera on the tablet is a 12 MP unit with Focus Pixels, True Tone flash and the ability to shoot at 4K resolution, while the front facing unit is a 5MP camera module. It is worth noting that these camera sensors are the same as the ones used in the iPhone 6S.

The tablet, which will hit store shelves in India from early April, comes in Silver, Space Grey, Gold and Rose Gold color variants, and will cost ₹49,900 for the WiFi-only variant, and ₹61,900 for the cellular modem equipped variant.

Apple also revealed that the prices of several accessories that are about to be launched in the country including the Apple Pencil, which will be available at ₹8,600 and the Smart Keyboard, which is priced at ₹13,900.
