Sonata, the watch brand from Titan Company, has unveiled a new range of touch-screen adventure watches that combine sports and technology. It has launched SF, a brand new identity for its Super Fibre range of watches.

Designed by Titan but made outside India with partners from Hong Kong and China, the new SF touch-screen collection is priced between ₹1,799 and ₹2,899 and targeted at adventure enthusiasts in the age group of 15-26 years.

These multi-function, digital sport watches are designed to provide accessibility by touching and swiping the screen, doing away with push buttons.

“We are unveiling the new face of Sonata - a sub-brand SF for youth who love the outdoors and adventure.

The new touch screen series is available in three unique designs and 13 variants and are packed with features such as dual time, touch pad, water resistance, EL backlight, countdown timer, alarm, stopwatch, chime and a 100 year calendar,” said Ravi Kant, CEO, Watches and Accessories Division.

Sonata Super Fibre launched its first touch screen watch in 2012 for ₹1,499. “The new touch screen series takes it to the next level by introducing the first-ever slide-touch, allowing users to swipe their digital watch just like they would swipe their mobile phones. The adventure seeking youth of today love to interface with technology all the time. These watches cater to that need,” said Kant.

The CEO added that: “We will be launching new SF collections every other month and will very soon launch a model with a brand new feature priced at ₹3,500.”

Like all other SF watches, the new range of touch screen adventure watches are made with high strength materials like ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) and PU (polyurethane) and will be available in over 8,000 outlets across India, including World of Titan stores, multi-brand outlets and authorised dealer stores.

Sonata was launched in 1997 to upgrade consumers from the unorganised market with affordable watches. Sonata reached the 50-million watches milestone in 2013. Last year, of the 14-million watches sold by Titan across all brands, 4.6 million were Sonata watches, including one million SF watches.
