Apple’s acquisition of TupleJump has become a hot topic in the IT offices here. Those who worked with the two founders, Satyaprakash Buddhavarapu and Rohit Rai, remember them as being technically very strong.

“Satya (Satyaprakash) was a quiet guy and Rohit was more outgoing. It’s very surprising that they started up. But not surprising that they chose a hardcore tech area,” Ramesh Loganathan, former President of Hyderabad Software Exporters’ Association (HYSEA), who worked with the two at Pramati Technologies, told BusinessLine .

They worked together for over six years at Pramati, where they developed a bond that resulted in starting up the firm.

“I love start-ups and the start-up culture. I have been part of the founding team of multiple start-ups and have started on my own in the past.” That’s how Rohit Rai describes himself.

On his LinkedIn profile, he relates his passion for Information Technology: “I have a varied experience working on enterprise platforms, Web 2.0 and social stuff, Mobile/Embedded and IP Communications, cloud technologies, Big Data and data analytics.”

Jay Pullur, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pramati, is quite happy over his boys starting up and getting acquired by Apple. “We constantly remind our folks that we are paid for our brains and not for our time (folks, don't come to office without that). These guys have brilliantly put it to use,” said Pullur, who is in the US.

“Apple has done a great job in spotting the right folks. The trick about successful mergers and acquisitions is in spotting the right candidate,” he said.

Satyaprakash, who also worked for Polaris Financial, has experience in critical software development for products in varied areas such as analytics, supply-chain, retail and financial services.
