Digital technology services provider UST Global has won the Golden Globe Tigers Award, 2017, for the third consecutive year for ‘excellence and leadership in corporate social responsibility (CSR)’.

The award also recognises the role of the company’s smart solutions in transforming lives through technology, a company spokesperson said.

The award was handed over during a ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, recently.

The Golden Globe Tigers Awards is an international platform to recognise organisations and industry leaders across Asia for their commitment to excellence in the realms of marketing, quality, branding, CSR and social innovation, education and academics.

Going beyond the ‘cheque writing’ approach, UST Global’s social agenda encourages active involvement of its employees in contributing to causes, says Alexander Varghese, Chief Administrative Officer and Country Head.

Its key area of focus is the empowerment of children through education; community development through healthcare, and green and clean initiatives; empowerment of women; and empowerment of differently-abled individuals for employability.

“Our vision in piloting these sustainable initiatives is to transform the lives of the underprivileged and needy individuals of society; we hope to continue doing this,” said Varghese.

UST Global has previously received the award for HR excellence in diversity and impact measurement in 2015 and for the best corporate social responsibility practices in 2016.
