Sundram Fasteners: Buy

B. Krishnakumar

LONG-TERM investors could include this stock in the portfolio. Apart from the sustained improvement in automobile production, quite a few developments in the recent past would keep the market interested in the Sundram Fasteners stock. With a presence in both export and domestic market, the company appears better positioned to weather any downturn in business prospects.

The company is amongst the top producers of fasteners in the country. Apart from fasteners, the company has a wide array of products in its portfolio including radiator caps.

The merger of the subsidiary — TVS Autolec — with the company would result in further broad basing of the product portfolio. With a presence across original equipment, replacement and export markets, the company is well positioned to tide over rough business environment.

The setting up of production facility in China and the recent decision to acquire a UK-based company would push Sundram Fasteners into a higher plane.
