Tech push for Kinetic

TWO-WHEELER maker Kinetic Motor Company, which has seen its market share plummet, could receive a boost to its scooters portfolio after the new tie-up with Sanyang Industry Co. (SYM) of Taiwan. The alliance, finalised earlier this month consequent to the Taiwanese company acquiring an 11.1 per cent stake in Kinetic Motor, will enable the latter introduce advanced technology platforms.

SYM manufactures a range of scooters with engine capacities from 50cc to 150cc.

Kinetic has lined up a slew of scooters for launch, the first of which is slated for end-October.

A company release states that SYM has developed four-valve and ceramic-coated cylinder engines that are said to offer better durability and longevity. It is also said to have developed one-piece cylinder head 4v, MIS intelligent ignition system and steadlite water resistant alloy cylinder technology. Kinetic plans to launch its range of Italjet scooters over the coming months, the first of which is set to hit the roads by end-March.
