Cars Marketing - Promotions & Offers Columns - Wheels & Deals
Maruti has announced its sales scheme for August. The southern market, especially Tamil Nadu, is in for special treatment because the Tamil month of Aadi is still in progress. While the schemes vary across cities, the offers are similar in Chennai and New Delhi except for the additional exchange/upgradation bonuses, which vary between Rs 5,000 and Rs 15,000 being offered for Chennai customers. On offer in Chennai and New Delhi are gift cheques worth Rs 10,000 on the M-800 and the Zen. Customers may also drive away in a Swift or a Versa with a Rs 20,000 gift cheque. The offer on sedans is higher, with the car manufacturer offering a gift cheque of Rs 60,000 on the Baleno and Rs 30,000 on the Esteem. There are also offers on the Omni in these two cities. ... And price hikes Citing higher costs for key raw materials such as steel, rubber and aluminium, Maruti has resorted to price hikes, from Rs 500 to Rs 5,000, with effect from August 1. The steepest hike is on the recently-launched LX version of the WagonR (LPG) at Rs 5,000. Small cars M-800 and Alto will be costlier by Rs 500. Maruti has also raised the price of the Esteem and the Baleno by Rs 1,000. The carmaker has, however, refrained from raising the prices of the Swift, Zen, Baleno (Vxi) and WagonR (Petrol).
