J.D. Power Asia has come out with a unique study `India Escaped Shopper'. The study, which is into its second year, dwells on 48 aspects new-car buyers consider when voting with their money. It states that while price and finance-related issues play a crucial role in the purchasing decision of a male buyer, vehicle styling is a key concern in the case of a female buyer. According to the study, about half the women shoppers consider at least one other model before a purchase. The study states that the buyers of Skoda, Mahindra & Mahindra and Chevrolet models tend to comparison shop lesser than those going in for Tata, Hyundai and Toyota. The study also states that shopping activity has increased by about one per cent over the previous year.
