Cars Marketing - New Products & Services Limited Edition Innova S. Muralidhar
AN MPV, sedan style. About two years into the market and over 68,400 units later, the Toyota Innova recently released a limited edition variant. The Innova is Toyota's three-row family-van-size multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). The new Limited Edition Innova will be available only with the diesel engine option and will be targeted at individual car buyers who are looking for sedan-style convenience and comfort with the space and seating capacity of a MPV. Toyota Kirloskar Motor plans to manufacture only 1,000 units of the limited edition and will make them available over the next three months. In keeping with the exclusive image of the limited edition version, Toyota has introduced two new colours for the vehicle Simpson Red and Warm Silver. The new edition is based on the existing G1 variant of the Innova. But with added features and cosmetic changes to the exteriors, Toyota is attempting to offer more value and improve this Limited Edition's appeal. On the outside, the Innova gets a rear spoiler, new side-body panel stripes, the Limited Edition emblem and a muffler cutter. The muffler cutter, which has been finished in chrome, has been included to offer a combination of better resistance to atmospheric conditions and for giving the Innova a sedan-style look at the rear. For the interiors, in addition to the standard fitment features of the G1 variant, the limited edition gets power windows with one-touch operation and a power lock, and new specially-designed, colour co-ordinated fabric seat covers that resist spillage, dust and dirt. The Innova also gets similar colour co-ordinated fabric floor mats that are expected to provide a more snug fit and added resistance to slippage. The Limited Edition Innova continues to be powered by the 2.5-litre D-4D common rail direct injection diesel engine that delivers a peak power of 102PS. It is priced at Rs 8.26 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai).
