Two/Three Wheelers Marketing - Strategy
S. MURALIDHAR
Bike market leader Hero Honda has been strengthening its portfolio of performance bikes the last few months. After launching the face-lifted Karizma and the CBZ X-treme, it is now the turn of the Achiever to pay a visit to the makeover artist. Late last month, Hero Honda started sales of the new Achiever, completing the redesign of all its three bikes in the 150cc and above category. The new Achiever now comes with five-spoke, matt-black cast alloy wheels, and a new body-coloured rear grip, instead of the usual grey aluminium alloy handle. The fuel tank and body side-panels now feature new colour combination stickers and graphics, including a new `Power Pro 150' logo giving the face-lifted Achiever a more attractive profile. The new Achiever is also being offered in five body colours force silver metallic, palace maroon, candy blazing red, magnetic blue metallic and black. Front disc brake and cast wheels come as standard fitment. The new version is available in two variants kick-start and electric self-start. The new motorcycle has been priced at Rs 52,650 and Rs 54,950 respectively for the two variants (ex-showroom Delhi). Within the premium segment, Hero Honda now has three different brands catering to specific sub-segments. The company's recent launches in this segment, the CBZ X-treme and the new Karizma, appeal to customers looking for sporty and stylish bikes to make a lifestyle statement. The new Achiever is expected to address the need of customers looking for a strong, powerful bike for commuting purpose, which also sports a bit of style.
