Strong US jobs data, which came in after markets closed on last Friday, may lift stock market sentiment on Monday.

Significantly, the original provisional data that showed a net loss of 4,000 jobs in August has been revised to a net addition of 89,000 jobs, tempering apprehensions of a slowdown in the US economy. At home, earnings season enters the first round with a slew of IT companies announcing their earnings in the coming week, investors can expect some stock specific action ahead.

Power Finance Corporation, iGate Global and Spice Communications announce their September quarter results on Wednesday (Oct 10). Infosys, Mastek and Container Corporation announce theirs on Thursday (Oct 11). Others declaring results in the latter part of the week include HDFC Bank (Oct 12), CMC (Oct 13) and IDFC (Oct 14).
