What’s ahead?

With India Inc.’s corporate earnings, data from Index of Industrial Production and advance estimates of GDP for the current year showing signs of moderation, investors may brace up for volatile times ahead. Equity markets are known to take cues from them.

The unanticipated rise in inflation to 4.11 per cent for the week ended January 26 may delay the much speculated change in interest rates, as well a hike in oil prices. Equity shares of Reliance Power are going to be listed on Monday (Feb 11).

As an immediate fall-out of the Emaar-MGF IPO being withdrawn prematurely, sentiments related to the real-estate space may struggle to maintain earlier buoyant levels.
