What’s ahead?

The Government is going to decide whether it should sacrifice a bit of growth to contain inflation. Data emanating last Friday showed that the wholesale price index inched closer to 7 per cent, its highest levels in 14 months.

The data adds more gumption to the belief that RBI may come out with a rate hike in the near future. Stock markets will closely track the macro economic events. Meanwhile, investors await full-year results from the companies, as we move into the new fiscal next week.
