Technology Columns - Life watch Corporate - Human Resources Fun with a cause
Here's an example of how corporates can kill two birds with the same stone hone the team-building skills of their employees while serving a good cause. The event, the Vidya Sagar Charity Trophy - Sadya, a rolling trophy, brought together sensitive and motivated people from both these sectors with a love of adventure and life. Organised by Vidya Sagar, a Chennai-based voluntary organisation for children and adults with neurological impairments, and Adventure Zone, an adventure sports company, the event was held at the Silversands resort near Mahabalipuram. Sadya had a long list of amazing events that were challenging and adventurous and, above all, a whole lot of fun that included wall climbing, grease pole climbing, rappelling down an artificial cliff, wheel-chair racing, etc. Today, adventure activities are becoming extremely popular among corporates as they enhance the levels of endurance, promote a sense of partnership among members and help in relieving stress. The participants, this year, included teams from AISEC, Firstware, BITES and Vidya Sagar. The Firstware team bagged the beautiful trophy, created by noted sculptor S. Nandagopal.
