Ambassador formula

From now on, it's not only brands seeking ambassadors — here is a company that is using the ambassador formula to seek employee talent. Flextronics Software Systems (FSS) has embarked on a new programme to keep in touch with the country's IITs and IIMs so that it could be the first to harness talent from top institutions. Largely a recruitment initiative that was launched recently in the three FSS centres in Delhi NCR, Bangalore and Chennai, the idea is to position FSS as the most preferred employer on the campus to be able to attract the best available talent into the organisation.

<15,3m>To achieve this, FSS has appointed from among its own employees alumni of top institutions as ambassadors. Acting as brand ambassadors, they will represent FSS in the country's major management institutes and engineering colleges. And what would be the ambassadors' brief? They are required to actively build the company's profile as the most preferred employer on the campus. Besides, they would also coordinate with their respective institute directors, placement coordinators, faculty members and the students in order to ensure that FSS is top-of-mind recall and that all the institute stakeholders are aware of its corporate culture.

According to Mr Aadesh Goyal, VP, HR, FSS, who sees the initiative as a great opportunity for talent search, says that ambassadors would also be the best people to identify the right candidates who can fit into the company's specific corporate culture and value system.
