Dinesh Kumar
Dinesh Kumar is a Team Member, Marketing, in float glass maker Saint Gobain Glass India. He takes care of the brand building and product management areas. In his early 30s, he has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA from IIM Bangalore.
On What B-school has taught him I think the most import thing the B-school teaches you is how to handle loads of pressure. The work load at the institute is immense, the deadlines are tight and there is lot of competition; you are working with the best minds of the country. It's a tremendous learning experience highly relevant to the corporate world. On what B-school must teach The B-school has everything for everyone. I think the extent of what a person takes out from the B-school depends on whether he has prior work experience or not. I think the take out for a person who has worked before is much more. Considering that there are a lot more freshers who go into the B-schools in India, I think there should be more industry interaction in terms of sharing case studies, workshops with industry experts. On a defining moment at B-school I can't think of a single defining moment. The whole experience is wonderful and to be cherished all life long. It teaches you to work under pressure, it helps you plan; get a structure into everything you do. On applying what he learnt at the B-school The key things that I have learnt are to be focused and turn up things fast. I have also learnt not be superficial in any analysis, try and go a little below, try to see beyond the obvious.
