Mr Kamal Mansharamani, CEO, Birlasoft
There are three things that are very critical for anyone to succeed honesty, goodwill and passion. These may sound like old world values, but they are extremely relevant in any age. Honesty means being honest to your work do your work with full sincerity and dedication. Make commitments that you can meet. If you have made a mistake (all of us make mistakes), be open to accept them, instead of trying to cover them up. Honesty generates a lot of trust and trust is the bedrock of all relationships. Relating it to the corporate world, honesty generates an environment of trust and collaboration. It fosters teamwork. It helps build teams that win and it helps individuals, who are part of the winning teams, succeed. We earn goodwill when we do something extra, something special to delight the other person. We earn goodwill when we are genuinely interested in helping the other person. Our desire to help others has to be genuine. It cannot be faked. We need to understand here that goodwill has to be earned. It cannot be demanded. In our relationships, we need to go an extra mile to delight our customers, our friends, our relations. It is like building a bank balance. A positive bank balance can help us ride through any rough patches that we may encounter in our relationships. Passion gives us that extra energy, that extra enthusiasm that drives us to give our 200 per cent to achieve our goals. If we are passionate about our goals then we can surmount the toughest challenges and achieve great success. Passion is infectious. It invigorates the whole team. Passionate teams can achieve incredible results. Mr Kamal Mansharamani, CEO, Birlasoft
