The Godrej Group has roped in Aamir Khan as their new brand endorser with a marketing campaign featuring the actor. With the theme ‘Ideas that make life better’, the campaign would showcase products across the Godrej group companies from FMCG brands to appliances.

Addressing a press conference, Tanya Dubhash, Executive Director and Chief Brand Officer, Godrej Group, said, “With our improved marketing skills, the time is now right to showcase this externally through an integrated campaign. Aamir Khan will lead to an instant connect with our consumers.”

The pan-India marketing campaign has been created by JWT and will be released in stages with a teaser introductory campaign followed by eight new commercials.

The Godrej Group is also timing the release of the campaign to coincide with the sixth edition of the IPL. Having stayed away from the tournament last season, it is now capitalising on the property once again. Shireesh Mukund Joshi, Head-Strategic Marketing, Godrej Industries, said they had stayed away from IPL last year, since they did not have a new campaign.

In 2011, the Group had associated with the IPL by launching its consumer connect programme- Godrej Power Play, a mass multi category loyalty programme with a ‘play’ based concept. It was also the preferred partners for teams such as Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders.
