The prices of copra and also the coconut oil decreased at Erode markets. “On Friday, the price of the coconut oil is ₹1,590-1,620 for 15-kg loose pack. This is more than ₹100 was less than last week’s price,” said RM Palanisamy, an oil trader. He said the price of the copra is also decreasing and was sold at ₹7,500-7,600 a quintal. Only 20 tonnes of copra was sold. Many oil crushers are having adequate stock of copra and also the arrival of coconuts from Kerala and Karnataka too were on the rise. Palm kernel went for ₹6,500-6,600 a quintal.
