Sugar prices on the Vashi wholesale market extended last week’s loss by ₹10-20 a quintal on regular and ample supply amid routine demand. The volume remained routine as producers kept their sale offer open. Naka prices went down by ₹30-50 for old stocks. Mill tender prices were steady at lower level. Arrivals were at 61-62 truckloads and local dispatches were also at 61-62 loads. On Saturday, 22-23 mills offered tenders and sold about 38,000-40,000 bags at ₹2,400-2,550 (2,420-2,560) for S-grade and ₹2,530-2,680 (2,540-2,780) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,560-2,702 (2,620-2,712) and M-grade ₹2,700-2,882 (2,700-2,902). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,430-2,570 (2,510-2,620) and M-grade ₹2,650-2,750 (2,640-2,780).
