The wheat market ruled flat with all varieties maintaining their previous levels on Friday.

Satish kumar, a wheat trader, told Business Line that since the demand matched supply in the market, wheat prices were unchanged since last weekend. Dara wheat prices are likely to rule around current levels for the next few days, he added.

In the physical market, dara quoted at Rs 1,510-1,520 a quintal. Around 55 tonnes of dara variety arrived from Uttar Pradesh and were directly offloaded at the mills. Mill delivery was Rs 1,510-1,515 while delivery at the chakki was Rs 1,520.

Similarly, Desi wheat varieties continued to rule flat on slack trading and quoted at Rs 1,900-2,020. On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for October delivery decreased by Rs 6 and traded at Rs 1,536, it had touched a low at Rs 1,533 earlier on Friday. November contracts were down by Rs 10 to Rs 1,537. Spot wheat prices on the exchange were down by Rs 100 and traded at Rs 1,500.

Flour Prices

With a steady trend in wheat, flour prices too remained unchanged and sold at Rs 1,510-1,520 for a 90-kg bag.

Similarly, Chokar prices remained unchanged at Rs 680 for a 49-kg bag.
