Amid report of decline in sowing area in mustard seeds and slack arrival, both mustard oil and mustard seeds are ruling higher in mandis across Madhya Pradesh with its prices in Indore at ₹680 (up ₹4 from last week). In Rajasthan mandis, mustard oil ruled stable with its prices in Kota and Ganga Nagar being quoted at ₹685 each (down ₹5 from last week), while it ruled firm in Jaipur at ₹700.
In Gujarat mandis, mustard oil traded marginally higher at ₹670 (up ₹5 from last week) on improved buying. Given report of decline in sowing area, stockists have restricted release of mustard seeds stock with them leading to a rise in prices. On Thursday, mustard seeds in the physical market were quoted at ₹4,300, while raida ruled at ₹3,300 a quintal. Plant deliveries were quoted at ₹3,885-90 a quintal (₹3,815-20 last week).
