Bearish trend continued in edible oils tracking weak futures amid slack physical demand. Imported palmolein and soya oil declined by ₹2 and ₹5 per 10 kg each. Groundnut oil gained ₹5 maintaining a firm trend for fourth consecutive day. Cotton, sunflower and rapeseed oil ruled steady. In absence of bulk demand, activities remained limited in resale.
Local refineries kept their rates steady.
Liberty traded palmolein ex JNPT at ₹618, ex STC/Shapur at ₹620/621 and super palmolein ₹643. Allana’s rates: palmolein ex Khapoli ₹622, soya refined oil ₹680, sunflower refined oil ₹700. Ruchi traded palmolein for ₹600, soyabean refined oil ₹665 and sunflower refined oil ₹692.50. At Rajkot, groundnut oil increased to ₹1,280 (1,270) for telia tin and loose (10 kg) ₹790 (780).
The Bombay Commodity Exchange spot rates (₹/10 kg): groundnut oil 825 (820), soya ref. 660 (665), sunflower exp. ref. 635 (635), sunflower ref. 695 (695), rapeseed ref. 780 (780), rapeseed exp. ref. 750 (750), cottonseed ref. 675 (675) and palmolein 590 (592).
