Nearly 92 per cent of 11.22 lakh kg offered in Sale No: 25 of Coonoor Tea Trade Association auction was sold with average prices falling to ₹98.20 a kg from last week’s ₹99.18. This was the first pan-India e-auction for leaf and dust teas. The Broken Pekoe of Homedale Estate, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped the Leaf auction as also the entire CTC market when Vora Sons bought it for ₹217 a kg. In the Dust Tea auction, Homedale Estate’s Pekoe Dust, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped at ₹203. Darmona Estate Red Dust came next at ₹196 a kg. In the orthodox market, Chamraj topped at ₹261 a kg followed by Kodanad ₹254, Havukal ₹245 and Karibetta ₹244.
