Cotton prices moved up as the Cotton Corporation of India has added more procurement centres. Kapas or raw cotton too gained. Gujarat Sankar-6 cotton was up ₹200 to ₹33,000-300 per candy of 356 kg. Arrival of cotton, however, remained slow. About 22,000 bales (of 170 kg each) arrived in Gujarat and 1.15 lakh bales arrived in India. According to market sources, CCI has purchased about 6 lakh bales so far. Kapas was up ₹5 to ₹800-815 for a maund of 20 kg. Gin delivery kapas stood at ₹820-825. Cottonseed was up ₹5 to ₹340-348.
