Cotton prices traded flat on the back of poor demand from domestic yarn mills. The commodity was down almost ₹2,000 a candy of 356 kg last week. Kapas too were unchanged. Gujarat Sankar-6 cotton was traded at ₹36,000-38,000/candy.
B-grade cotton was ₹34,000-36,000 and lower grade cotton was traded at ₹31,000-33,000. About 4,000 bales (of 170 kg each) of cotton arrived in Gujarat and 10,000-12,000 bales arrived in India. Kapas or raw cotton went for ₹850-980 for a maund of 20 kg in Saurashtra. Gin delivery kapas was ₹960-1,000.
