As prices went up during the week, cotton traded unchanged on restricted demand at the higher level. Cottonseed and kapas or raw cotton increased marginally on demand for seed from crushers. Gujarat Sankar-6 cotton was traded at ₹33,000-34,000 per candy of 356 kg. About 40,000 bales of 170 kg arrived in Gujarat and 90,000 bales in India. Kapas was up by ₹5 to ₹900-975 per 20 kg and gin delivery kapas stood at ₹980-1,015. Cottonseed gained ₹10 to ₹500-555.
