Cotton was traded flat as demand remained slow with buyers waiting for new crop. Kapas or raw cotton moved down on weak ginning demand. Gujarat Sankar-6 best quality cotton was traded at ₹39,000-40,000 a candy of 356 kg.
B grade cotton was at ₹37,000-38,000 and lower grade cotton stood at ₹33,000-35,000. About 3,000 bales (of 170 kg) arrived in Gujarat and 58,000-6,000 bales arrived in India. Kapas lost ₹5 to ₹850-1,035 for a maund of 20 kg in various mandis of Gujarat. Gin delivery kapas was ₹1,000-20 and cotton seed remained unchanged at ₹410-450.
