Cotton prices dropped on the spot market on slow demand from exporters and domestic mills. Moreover, speculative trend in the futures market also aided the downtrend. Gujarat Sankar-6 cotton dipped by ₹200 to ₹33,000-500 for candy of 356 kg. About 20,000 bales (of 170 kg) arrived in Gujarat and 45,000 bales arrived in India. However, traders are not expecting much downfall in price as supply is decreasing. According to market sources, nearly 80 per cent of the total production has arrived so far. Kapas or raw cotton too was traded weak as demand from ginners declined marginally. Kapas in Saurashtra region lost ₹5-7 to ₹890-900 for a maund of 20 kg and gin delivery kapas was ₹910-915. Cottonseed went for ₹405-410. Our Correspondent
