Crude oil futures declined 0.14 per cent to Rs 5,116 per barrel today in line with a weak trend in Asian trade.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in January shed Rs 7 or 0.14 per cent to Rs 5,116 per barrel with a business volume of 7,138 lots.
Similarly, the oil for February delivery moved down by a similar margin to Rs 5,159 per barrel with a business volume of 847 lots.
Marketmen said the fall in crude oil futures prices was mostly in line with a weakening trend in Asia as weak energy demand and concerns over more fiscal battles in Washington tempered the news of a modest growth in the US jobs market.
Meanwhile, crude oil for delivery in February was down 2 cents at $93.07 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
