Crude oil futures fell 0.32 per cent to Rs 3,669 per barrel today as traders trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in Asian trade where it sank to a fresh five-year low.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in January next year traded Rs 14, or 0.32 per cent, down at Rs 3,669 per barrel in 425 lots.
Similarly, crude oil for December delivery moved down by Rs 13, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 3,625 per barrel in 1,798 lots.
Trading sentiment eased at the futures trade after crude oil prices dipped to a fresh five-year low in Asian trade today, analysts said.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for January delivery fell 25 cents to $57.56, while Brent crude for January delivery was down one cent at $61.84 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange in mid-morning trade.
