Major edible oils gained on Friday tracking firm futures, steady currency and seasonal demand. On the Bombay Commodity Exchange, imported soya and palmolein along with indigenous sunflower and rapeseed oil rose by ₹2 each. In line with extended gain in Malaysian palm oil futures, local refineries have increased their rates for palmolein by ₹2-5 for 10 kg. Groundnut and cotton refined oil rule unchanged. The volume remained thin but under current was a positive, said trade sources.
Vikram Global Commodities (P) Ltd, Chennai, quoted ₹515/10 kg for September Delivery of Malaysian super palmolein. Liberty was quoting palmolein at ₹490, super palmolein ₹512, soyabean refined oil ₹590. Ruchi was quoting palmolein at ₹487, soyabean refined oil ₹582 and sunflower refined oil ₹590. Allana was quoting palmolein at ₹515, soyabean refined oil ₹600 and sunflower oil ₹600.
In Saurashtra-Rajkot, groundnut Telia tin was steady at ₹1,180 and loose (10 kg) ₹750 (₹750).
BCE spot rates (₹/10 kg): groundnut oil 780 (780), soya refined oil 582 (580), sunflower exp. ref. 540 (540), sunflower ref. 597 (595), rapeseed ref. oil 722 (720), rapeseed expeller ref. 692 (690) cottonseed ref. oil 620(620) and palmolein 485 (483).
