The traders are keen in buying the quality turmeric. “On Thursday, 20 bags of good quality Mysore Finger variety arrived for sale. The traders procured all of them for ₹9,900 a quintal. The traders also purchased all the 2,500 bags of new turmeric. Of the total arrival of 6,300 bags, 65 per cent were sold,” said RKV Ravishankar, President, Erode Turmeric Merchants Association. At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association, the finger turmeric was sold at ₹8,269-10,069 a quintal and the root variety at ₹8,096-9,169. Of the 2,261 bags offered, 1,400 were sold.
