Imported edible oils such as palmolein and soyabean refined oil rose by ₹3 and ₹2 per 10 kg on firm futures amid higher festival demand. Local refineries hiked their rates for palmolein by ₹4-7.
Sources said that following a firm trend in palm and soya complex overseas and a weak rupee which makes import costly,the sentiment was upbeat in spot markets. Vikram Global Commodities (P) Ltd, Chennai, quoted ₹535/10 kg for October delivery of Malaysian super palmolein. Liberty was quoting palmolein at ₹512-514, super palmolein ₹544 and soyabean refined oil ₹613. Ruchi was quoting palmolein at ₹515, soyabean refined oil ₹602 and sunflower refined oil ₹603. Allana’s rates: palmolein ₹525, super palmolein ₹550, soyabean refined oil ₹610 and sunflower oil ₹615. In Saurashtra-Rajkot, groundnut oil Telia declined to ₹1,170 (₹1,175) and loose (10 kg) at ₹740 (₹740).
BCE spot rates (₹/10 kg): groundnut oil 775 (780), soya refined oil 604 (602), sunflower exp. ref. 565 (570), sunflower ref. 615 (610), rapeseed ref. oil 724 (724), rapeseed expeller ref. 694 (694), cottonseed ref. oil 630 (628) and palmolein 505 (502).
