Selling of imported pepper at prices below ₹400 a kg has pushed the spot prices further down on Monday. Trade sources told Business Line that Indian owned company in Vietnam has reportedly sold Vietnam pepper at $3,200 a tonne to its counterpart in India in spite of the MIP in force. On the terminal market four tonnes of high range pepper were traded at ₹415 while eight tonnes of imported stuff went for ₹395 . Spot prices declined further by ₹100 a quintal to close at ₹40,100 (ungarbled) and ₹42,100 (garbled) a quintal. Indian export prices were at $6,750 a tonne c&f for Europe and $7,000 a tonne c&f for the US.
