Jeera prices declined as demand slightly moved down at the higher level. However, weak arrival restricted the price to go down much. Traders said that export demand was there and domestic buyers were also active but buyers were waiting for some downfall. On the other hand, arrival was very slow due to damage and lower production expectations. According to traders, jeera may not decline much as stock position is tight. About 7,000-8,000 bags arrived in Unjha mandi of Gujarat and prices down ₹10 to ₹3,150-3,300 for a maund of 20 kg for best quality and average quality went for ₹2,900-3,100. At Rajkot APMC, arrivals were 500 bags and prices were down ₹10-12 to ₹3,000-3,200 for best quality and ₹3,000-3,100 for average quality.
