Jeera prices moved up on the back of short supply and expectation of fresh export demand from neighboring countries. Following the spot, prices increased on futures on short covering by market participants. On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) jeera July contract gained ₹50 to ₹17,660 a quintal, with an open interest of 15,129 lots. NCDEX August jeera contract increased ₹80 to ₹17,920, with an open interest of 8,283 lots. About 5,000 bags arrived in Unjha mandi of Gujarat and price moved up by ₹10 to ₹2,750-3,300 per 20 kg. At Rajkot APMC, jeera arrival was registered at 400 bags and price increased by ₹10 to ₹2,500-3,200 per 20 kg.
