Jeera futures increased on account of domestic as well as overseas demand coupled with lower arrivals. Ample supplies on the back of record output and huge carryover stocks capped the gain. Traders expect exports to rise in the coming months amidst reports of lower production in Turkey and geopolitical crisis Syria. On the NCDEX, jeera July contracts gained ₹55 at ₹11,510 a quintal. At Unjha mandi in Gujarat, about 9,000-10,000 bags arrived and went for ₹2,150-2,250 for 20 kg for best quality, average jeera ₹2,050-2,150 and lower grade ₹1,950-2,050. About 700 bags arrived in Rajkot for ₹1,900-2,175.
