Spot sugar prices ruled flat with need-based activities, limited demand and ample supply. However, with rising temperature and crushing season to end soon producers are not eager to sell at lower rates. On the Vashi market, arrivals were higher than local demand. Arrivals were at 60-61 truck loads and local dispatches were 57-58 loads. On Tuesday evening, 15-16 mills offered tenders and sold about 28,000-30,000 bags at ₹2,360-2,500 (2,360-2,500) for S-grade and ₹2,520-2,600 (2,520-2,600) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,482-2,580 (2,482-2,580) and M-grade ₹2,582-2,712 (2,582-2,712). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,430-2,530 (2,430-2,530) and M-grade ₹2,530-2,670 (2,530-2,670).
