Pepper markets continued to experience dullness in the absence of buyers and sellers. There were neither any arrivals nor any offtake on the spot market. Imported pepper is being traded in the domestic market. Vietnam pepper of 500 GL was being offered at ₹630-640 a kg in the upcountry markets.
Karnataka was offering pepper at ₹690-700 a kg delivered anywhere in India while Sri Lankan material was also being sold at this rate. But, the availability continued to remain thin. There were no activities on the IPSTA platform. Export prices were at $12,400 a tonne (c&f) for Europe and $12,650 for the US.
