Mustard and its oil traded flat in mandis across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat amid subdued demand. Mustard oil prices in Indore mandis were quoted at ₹668/10 kg.
In Rajasthan mandis also, mustard oil ruled stable with its prices in Kota and Ganga Nagar at ₹670 each. Similarly, in Jaipur and Gujarat, it ruled flat at ₹685 and ₹655. Mustard also ruled firm at ₹3,650 a quintal (down ₹50 from last week), while raida ruled at ₹3,500. Plant deliveries for Jaipur line were down at ₹3,915-20 (3,965-70 last week).
Given it is peak of harvesting season, arrival of new mustard seeds in mandis is far from satisfactory. Report of damage to the crop this year on account of inclement weather condition, has reportedly made stockists, farmers restrict supply of mustard seeds in mandis so as to sell it at premium in the coming days, said Kailash Agrawal, a mustard seeds traderadding that prospect of mustard seeds appears bullish in the coming days.
