Pepper prices continued their downtrend on Wednesday on selling pressure. Karnataka pepper is being sold to Kerala buyers following slowdown in cash-and-carry sales. Karnataka is offering at ₹565 a kg delivered in Kochi under 'H' Form. Mixed High Range pepper was available at ₹600. Leading exporters were reported to have bought 50 tonnes of pepper from Karnataka and 50 tonnes from the High Ranges. In addition, 41 tonnes were traded on the terminal market. Thus, a total 141 tonnes of pepper were traded today. Spot prices fell further by ₹500 a quintal to ₹57,500 (ungarbled) and ₹60,500 (garbled). On the IPSTA platform, all the active contracts dropped by ₹500 each. Export prices also declined to $9,700 a tonne c&f for Europe and $9,750 for the US.
