Pepper prices ruled steady on Monday on limited activities. Bihar and Jharkhand-based inter-State dealers are reportedly making bearish propaganda to drive buyers away, market sources told Business Line . In Kerala, sellers were offering 500 GL pepper at ₹625-630 while re-processed and High Range pepper of 550 GL was being offered at ₹655. On the spot, 15 tonnes of pepper were traded at an average price of ₹639. Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹63,900 (ungarbled) and ₹66,900 (garbled) a quintal. Export prices declined following weakening of rupee against the dollar, to $11,300 a tonne c&f Europe and $11,550 for the US.
