Pepper prices continued to rule steady on limited activities. On the spot, two tonnes of pepper arrived from the High Ranges and were traded at ₹695 a kg. Pepper from the plains was being offered at ₹675 while that from Pulpally and Bathery, mixed with Kodagu pepper and of 535-540 GL was nominally quoted at ₹685 but buyers were at ₹680. Sellers were offering semi-processed pepper for ₹690 .
On the IPSTA platform, November contract was steady while December, January and February contracts were down ₹1,000 a quintal each. Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹67,800 (ungarbled) and ₹70,800 (garbled). Export prices declined to $11,900 a tonne cf Europe and $12,150 for the US.
