Pepper prices continued to stay hot on strong demand amid limited availability. Upcountry buyers were active. Indian exporters, having processing facilities in Vietnam, were covering aggressively Karnataka farm grade pepper for shipping out to Vietnam for processing and exporting, trade sources told BusinessLine . On the terminal market, 42 tonnes arrived and all were traded. Of this, 16 tonnes were from Karnataka. Spot prices increased further by ₹500 a quintal to ₹57,500 (ungarbled) and ₹60,500 (garbled). On the IPSTA platform, al the active contracts – May, June and July – moved up by ₹500 each to ₹60,500, 60,490, 60,490 respectively. Export prices were at $10,050 a tonne c&f for Europe and $10,300 for the US.
