Pepper prices slipped on Wednesday on selling pressure amid slack demand. The trade attributed the fall to selling pressure from Karnataka and reported availability of imported material in all the north Indian centres. Karnataka was offering 480-500 gl pepper at ₹640 a kg delivered anywhere in India. On the spot, 10 tonnes of pepper arrived and traded at an average price of ₹670. They said there were sellers for high range pepper at ₹690 while buyers were at ₹685. Similarly, resellers were offering semi-processed pepper at ₹680 but buyers were offering ₹675. On the IPSTA platform 18 tonnes were handed today in day trading. Spot prices lost ₹500 to ₹67,000 (ungarbled) and ₹70,000 (garbled) a quintal. Export prices remained at $12,200 a tonne cf for Europe and $12,250 for the US..
