Pepper prices ruled steady on limited activities. In the upcountry markets, end-users were picking up available pepper at sellers’ prices. However, some trade took place for High Range pepper at ₹710 a kg. But, many small and medium sellers were hesitant to offer due to delay in payment, market sources told Business Line. On the spot, 15 tonnes of pepper were arrived and traded. High Range pepper was traded at ₹710 while Pulpally and Bathery pepper was sold at ₹680. Sri Lankan and Coorg pepper was being offered at ₹715. On the IPSTA platform, October and November contracts were steady at previous levels. Spot prices also ruled steady at ₹67,800 (ungarbled) and ₹70,800 (garbled) a quintal. Export prices were up at $12,100 a tonne cf for Europe and $12,350 for the US.
