Spot turmeric prices witnessed an increase at Erode markets on the back of strong demand and quality arrivals.
On Friday, more than 6,000 bags arrived for sale and of this, more than 1,500 bags were of good quality turmeric.
Quality finger turmeric fetched ₹100-500 a quintal more and root turmeric prices were up ₹500 than the previous day’s price.
At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association, the finger turmeric was sold at ₹5,455-8,694 a quintal; the root variety at ₹5,509-8,159. Of the 2,865 bags on offer, 1,426 were sold.
