Spot edible oils prices rose on Friday in line with sharp increase in price by local refineries on expectation of higher festival demand while domestic soya oil futures declined tracking cues from weak overseas markets. On the Bombay Commodity Exchange, groundnut, sunflower, rapeseed oil and cotton refined oil rose by ₹10, ₹5, ₹1 and ₹5 each. Imported palmolein and soyabean refined oil gained ₹5 and ₹6 for 10 kg each as local refineries quoted ₹5-8 higher.
Liberty was quoting palmolein at ₹520-522, super palmolein ₹552 and soyabean refined oil ₹620. Ruchi traded palmolein at ₹518 , soyabean refined oil ₹610 and sunflower refined oil ₹615. Allana’s rates: palmolein ₹525, super palmolein ₹550, soyabean refined oil ₹613 and sunflower oil ₹618.
In Saurashtra-Rajkot, groundnut oil Telia increased to ₹1,180 (₹1,170) and loose (10 kg) was steady at ₹750.
BCE spot rates (₹/10 kg): groundnut oil 785 (775), soya refined oil 610 (604), sunflower exp. ref. 570 (565), sunflower ref. 615 (615), rapeseed ref. oil 725 (724), rapeseed expeller ref. 695 (694) cottonseed ref. oil 635 (630) and palmolein 510 (505).
